Abstract
The lattice of molecular centers of solidified mixtures of methane and nitrogen has been determined by x‐ray diffraction for a representative sample of temperatures and concentrations. Face centered cubic packing of molecules dominates the solid–solid phase diagram, except for temperatures above 36 K and high molar concentrations of nitrogen, where the hexagonal closest packing characteristic of the β phase of solid nitrogen persists. Keywords
