Abstract
Preview Acute mediastinitis is a lethal disease not often discussed in the medical literature. It usually occurs secondary to esophageal perforation, although there are numerous other causes. Drs Friedman and Pickul discuss the nonsurgical causes and clinical presentation of this disease and recommend an approach to medical and surgical management. Keywords
