Abstract
150 sprue patients (80% white and 33% less than 40 yrs. old) were studied. Sprue which is non-contagious but has a hereditary factor, is a deficiency disease, principally B2 hypovitaminosis, with hypochlorhydria, impaired circulatory system, marked changes in blood values (macrocytic anemia) and sternal marrow cells (increase in megaloblasts). Appropriate diet, adequate liver therapy using Lilly''s #343 is considered the best treatment of sprue. Keywords
