Energy-level shifts in atoms between metallic planes

Abstract
The vacuum fluctuations of the electric field will shift the energy levels of an atom between two neutral, conducting planes. We have calculated these shifts in hydrogen atoms, and numerical values for the shifts of the lowest levels are given.Keywords
