Development of Tolerance to Typhoid Bacterial Pyrogen and its Abolition by Reticulo-Endothelial Blockade.

Abstract
Rabbits given daily intraven. injns. of typhoid vaccine develop a tolerance to this pyrogen after about one week. At this time they react with considerably less fever than at their 1st injn. Reticulo-endothelial blockade abolishes the tolerance so that they react to the same dose of vaccine with high, sustained fevers.
