Abstract
Hymenolepis diminuta has been grown in vitro from the cysticercoid to the patent adult stage using a diffused diphasic medium consisting of a blood-agar base (NNN) overlaid with Hanks'' balanced salt solution. The culture flasks were incubated at 37 C in a Dubnoff metabolic shaking incubator under a gas mixture of 97% N2-3% CO2. Details of methodology and data on the growth and development of worms cultivated in this simplified system are reported.
