Abstract
The author presents addenda to two papers: "Screened Coulomb Solutions of the Schrödinger Equation" [Phys. Rev. 159, 41 (1967); Phys. Rev.176, 423 (E) (1968)]; and "Finite Electronic Partition Function from Screened Coulomb Interactions" [Phys. Rev. 163, 62 (1967); Phys. Rev.176, 423 (E) (1968)]. In these addenda, it is shown that limiting screening radii defined by extrapolation of the published and additional numerical results are in very good agreement with other published values obtained by perturbation and variational methods; and the limit where the relative occupation probability becomes zero is correlated with the limiting screening radius. An expression is given for the highest bound state that yields very good agreement with the observed disappearance of hydrogen lines in the solar atmosphere. Keywords
