Abstract
Evaluation is often described as different from research. In this article, common myths about evaluation are discussed as well as reasons these myths no longer fit with current understanding of evaluation research. Issues associated with the conduct of evaluation studies are described, with recommendations made for maximizing the rigor of designs. Suggestions are made for how nurse executives can shape and influence externally generated evaluation projects. Keywords
