INHIBITORY EFFECT OF TRICHLORMETHIAZIDE ON DEVELOPMENT OF DOC HYPERTENSION IN RATS

Abstract
TCM[trichlormethiazide] apparently had no significant effect on the heart rate and growth curves of DOC[deoxycorticosterone acetate]-treated rats. TCM significantly inhibited development of hypertension and showed a diuretic effect in DOC hypertensive rats at daily dosages over 0.2 mg/kg orally. Dosages of TC given herein correspond fairly well to clinical dosages. The antihypertensive effect of TCM in the DOC hypertensive rats is presumed to be associated with its diuretic effect.
