Abstract
Eight women suffering from endogenous periodic depressions were observed over a period of 2 years. The eeg and clinical examinations were carried out during phases, during remissions, under antidepressants and without antidepressants. The experimental schedule and the statistical analysis allowed separation of the influence of medication and the influence of the clinical state on the eeg. The antidepressive medication significantly increased the quantity of delta and theta activity. During the depressive phases a significant increase of alpha and beta activity independent of medication was shown. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
