Abstract
An ornithosis agent of relatively low virulence was isolated from the brains of 2-day-old chickens having nervous symptoms similar to those associated with avian encephalomyelitis. Histopathologic changes in the brains consisted of meningitis, vasculitis, neuronal degeneration, and gliosis. A disease with brain lesions similar to the ones observed under field conditions was produced in young chickens by inoculation with the isolated ornithosis agent. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
