Abstract
An electrometer-ratiometer that will measure the ratio of currents in the 10−13 A range or larger has been developed. Under laboratory conditions of temperature and background fluctuations, ratio measurements can be made with accuracies approaching 0.1%. For our application this kind of accuracy requires 30 sec integrating time constants on the two most sensitive ranges. The channel outputs or their ratio may be read with digital voltmeters, or the output signals may be balanced in a bridge-like arrangement utilizing a precision Helipot that gives the ratio directly. A two-position gain control switch in one channel provides two multiplier factors for reading scale ratios between 0–10% and 0–25%.Keywords
