Abstract
The recently revised structure (4) proposed for pseudohypericin has been confirmed by spectroscopic data and two independent syntheses. The phenanthroperylene quinones (7) and (a), the former corresponding to fringelite F, have been synthesized from the corresponding anthrones (16) and (17).A revised structure for cyclopseudohypericin (5) has been established on the basis of spectroscopic evidence. Other reactions of pseudohypericin are discussed. Keywords
