Abstract
A new type of active antenna (self-radiating oscillator) is presented that consists of a half-wave dipole and a high electron mobility transistor (HEMT). An output power of 2.43 mW was measured at 14.5 GHz with a 24.1% DC-to-RF efficiency. The circuit should have applications in microwave and millimetre-wave power combining. Keywords
