Abstract
The reaction of iron(III) perchlorate with 4-pyridinecarbaldehyde under hydro(solvo)thermal conditions affords bis(isonicotinato)iron(II) 1, in which both pyridine and carboxylate groups coordinate to iron centers resulting in an unprecedented neutral, three-dimensional polymeric network with a carboxylate-bridged Fe–Fe infinite chain. Keywords
