Abstract
Using data from several of his communication studies, Charters seeks to explain the strong persistence in patterns of staff contact in a high school between the spring of one academic year and the fall of the next, despite a 50 per cent turnover of personnel in the interim. At present the author is Professor of Education at the University of Oregon and Research Associate in the Center for the Advanced Study of Edu cational Administration.Keywords
