Abstract
The azimuthal angular dependence and corresponding energy spectra have been measured for electrons ejected at 135° from the beam direction by autoionizing He atoms in the and states, which were excited by 2000-eV ions scattered through 6°. The data show a marked dependence on the azimuthal angle of the scattered projectile and are used to calculate the moduli and phases of the population amplitudes of the magnetic sublevels excited.
