Abstract
Teichuronic acids are heteropolymers containing uronic acid and other carbohydrate residues but little (if any) P; they are present in walls of some gram-positive bacteria. Walls of 10 strains of B. megaterium and 2 strains of B. cereus were assayed for uronic acids, rhamnose and P. Only strain M46 (B. megaterium) contained teichuronic acid, and walls of several strains contained no teichoic or teichuronic acids. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
