Abstract
A pedigree is presented of the type of deafness known as otosclerosis. In this pedigree otosclerosis is dependent upon an autosomal dominant gene. The degree of deafness varied from partial deafness in most affected individuals to one case of severe deafness. Three deaf members and one hearing member of the pedigree suffered from catarrh, although catarrh is not usually associated with otosclerosis.
