Abstract
Zamick et al. recently reported on a series of Hartree-Fock calculations of light nuclei with Skyrme interaction in which they observed a near degeneracy of states corresponding to different fillings of the single-particle levels. We will present here a possible explanation for these facts using very simple arguments based on the liquid drop model. Keywords
