Abstract
A taxonomic study from which it is deduced that the 2 populations of N. valida living on opposite sides of the Gulf of California are related subspecifically. A former much wider distribution is postulated for the species, and the theory is advanced that increasing post-Pleistocene aridity has resulted in a southward displacement of the range. The species is treated raono-graphically and all known information concerning it is included. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
