Abstract
The specificity of the sensitivity in 40 cases allergic to sulfonamides was investigated and showed that in 60% the allergy was confined to one drug while the rest were sensitive to all sulfa drugs tested and to sulfanilic acid. In this latter series about half were sensitive to the sulfonamide radical (NH2C6H4SO2 [long dash]) while the other half were sensitive to the aminophenyl radical (NH2C6H4[long dash]), reactions also occurring to procaine. No cases were seen in which the sensitization was to still smaller groups than these. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
