Abstract
Neutron inelastic scattering experiments have been performed on polycrystalline NdN and HoN to measure the crystal-field splittings. Analysing the crystal-field parameters in terms of an effective point-charge model yields excellent agreement with other rare-earth nitrides, but markedly deviates from the results obtained for the other rare-earth monopnictides. Keywords
