Abstract
A case of spontaneous perforation of the caecum following Caesarean section in a 28‐year‐old primigravida is presented. The literature is reviewed and contributory factors are discussed. A caecal diameter exceeding 9 cm is stated to be an important sign of imminent perforation. Keywords
