Abstract
Five hundred and ten 7th and 8th grade pupils of Olmsted County schools were divided into 2 comparable groups; one a control group, and one an experimental group. The experimental group received a complete prophylaxis followed by 1 application of an 8% SnF2 solution on all quadrants of the mouth. The control group received a complete prophylaxis followed by a topical application of water. At the end of 1 year one application of an 8% SnF2 reduced caries 20% on teeth. This study also demonstrated the possibility of conducted health classes for students while waiting for their turn in the dental office. Classes were conducted in dental health, nutrition and sanitation, under the supervision of a health educator. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
