Abstract
Summary: Spontaneous magnetization curves J(T) and Curie points of cation deficient titanomagnetites have been calculated by using a molecular field approximation which has been successful in explaining quantitatively the P type behaviour of some stoichiometric titanomagnetites and the variation with composition of the Curie points. In extending this to the case of cation deficient titanomagnetites it is shown that, depending on cation distribution, these can have N type J(T) curves with compensation temperatures up to about 450°C and that others can have J(T) curves unlike the Q, P, L and N types of Néel.
