Abstract
The developmental, body chemistry or somatic differences that might be present were studied in children who were on a low-saturated-fat, low-cholesterol (LSFLC) diet since birth. Comparison to a matched control group at age 3 yr failed to demonstrate significant differences in percentile height, percentile weight, head circumference, age, skinfold thickness, total serum protein, Hb, number of failures on a Denver Developmental Screening test or number of sick visits. Experimental children did have significantly lower serum cholesterol than a large group of children of similar age. At age 3 yr, no significant adverse findings were present in the group who had been nourished on a LSFLC diet since birth as compared to a control group. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
