Abstract
The first Born approximation calculation of Kroll and Watson is extended by a time-dependent eikonal calculation. The resulting amplitude returns to their first Born approximation in the extreme limit of a weak scattering potential or small momentum transfer. In the ultrastrong-field limit, the total cross section reduces to the field-free eikonal result. Keywords
