Abstract
A new species, Actinocyclus exiguus, a small centric diatom, is described from the southern Indian and Atlantic Oceans. The pseudonodulus, a diagnostic feature of the genus and family, has not been seen in the light microscope and is more easily seen on the inside of eroded valves with the aid of the scanning electron microscope. A. exiguus is compared to closely related species. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
