Abstract
Formation of the enzyme [beta]-galactosidase is inhibited by dihydrostreptomycin in a strain of E. coli which Can not multiply in the presence of this antibiotic. Formation of [beta]-galactosidase is not inhibited in E. coli variants which multiply in the presence of dihydrostreptomycin or which require the antibiotic for multiplication. Keywords
