Abstract
• Light microscopy, electron microscopy, and histochemical studies were carried out on the corneas of three patients in whom identical keratopathy developed following extensive retinal detachment surgery with silicone-oil injection. These studies revealed the presence of granular deposits in Bowman's layer. Histochemistry and electron-probe analysis showed these deposits to be calcium phosphate. No silicone was detected in the tissue. This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
