Abstract
It is shown that the recently published method for the classification of all possible quadrupole arrangements in crystals can be applied to all crystals consisting of homonuclear diatomic molecules, even though the electric quadrupole-quadrupole interaction is not necessarily the dominant orientational interaction, provided that the intermolecular separation is large compared to the size of the molecules. Keywords
