Abstract
Preliminary investigations of the distribution, orientation, heights and form of cirques in this area provide some basis for re-assessing generalizations concerning their mode of formation. Evidence of this type, though difficult to interpret, supports the palaeoclimatic reconstructions made elsewhere in western Britain, particularly with regard to the direction of prevailing winds during the period of cirque formation. Keywords
