Abstract
Rodents were caught in 6 forested areas of south Ivory Coast using a standardized method. One forest was especially studied (Adiopodoume); in this area the upright distribution of rodents was studied in the 4 strata of the forest: ground, low vegetation, continuous canopy and upper discontinuous canopy. Low vegetation presented the same rodent densities but specific diversity was more important on the ground where Mus predominated over genus Praomys and Hylomyscus. Above ground, Hylomyscus fairly predominated. The vertical distribution of Hylomyscus, Praomys and Dephomys showed the different strata they occupy. Comparison between faunas of the different forest areas studied gives the preferential habitat of the studied species. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
