Evaluating the Effectiveness of Primary Nursing Practice

Abstract
This article reports a unique approach to evaluating primary nursing practice. The authors describe the development and use of an audit tool to record primary nursing structure, process, and implementation for comparison with their hospital's established standards of primary nursing. Their discussion of how they approached the evaluation process and what they learned offers useful information for improvements in planning, implementing, and evaluating primary nursing.
