Abstract
The type species of Sciniatosporium Kalchbr. (1866), Stigmina Sacc. (1880), Thyrostroma Höhnel (1911), Marcosia Syd. (1916), and Thyrostromella Syd. (1924) non Höhnel, are considered to be congeneric. The name Sciniatosporium has priority. A revised generic diagnosis is given to include the type species of these generic names. Three fungi which were originally placed in Coryneum Nees ex Fr., two in Sporidesmium Link ex Fr., and three in Stegonsporium Corda, together with M. ulei Syd., the type species of Marcosia, and most species recently disposed in Stigmina, are transferred to Sciniatosporium. A new species, Sciniatosporium verrucosum, is described. Keywords
