Abstract
In psychosomatic literature concerning myocardial infarction patients (MIPS), these patients are depicted as being overactive and achievement-driven. Another characteristic should be their more than average sense of duty and responsibility toward their work. To test these hypotheses, the mean factor scores on a factor-analytically derived activity and work factor and a job-responsibility factor of 102 MIPS and two healthy control groups were tested for differences. The results lend support to the clinical psychosomatic impressions.
