Abstract

Sixteen bovine embryos recovered from superovulated donors 7 days following estrus were frozen, placed in liquid nitrogen and shipped from Calgary to Costa Rica. When thawed and transferred to synchronized recipients, four produced pregnancies demonstrating that bovine embryos can be stored for lengthy periods, shipped internationally and implanted with success.
