Multipolarities of the Yrast and Statistical Cascades in the ReactionsNd150(Ne20,xnγ)

Abstract
The total conversion coefficient, α, of the γ-ray continuum has been determined as a function of γ-ray energy from 0.5 to 2.5 MeV. The results are consistent with a mixture of E1 and E2 for Eγ>~1.0 MeV, with a smooth increase of the E1 fraction with Eγ up to ∼1.5 MeV. At lower energy, in the upper half of the yrast region, α shows the expected dominance of E2 radiation, but for the lower half an increasing M1 contribution is found.
