Effect of Bacillus Calmette-Guérin on the Levels of Acid Phosphatase, Lysozyme and Cathepsin in Rabbit Alveolar Macrophages

Abstract
Summary: A study has been made of the time course and dose-response curves of lysozyme, acid phosphatase and cathepsin in rabbit alveolar macrophages following the injection of bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) by the intratracheal route. Significant elevation in the levels of these acid hydrolases was observed within 3 to 7 days following the injection of BCG. The increase in enzyme levels was observed to be a dose-related response.
