Abstract
From the application of Maslov’s method, expressions are derived for the transmitted high-frequency fields in a caustic region, when a spherical or a plane wave is incident upon a spherical dielectric interface. It is verified that the expressions reduce to those of geometrical optical fields in the region far from a caustic by applying the stationary phase method. Some numerical results including the contour plots in the focal region are obtained by using the derived expression. Keywords
