Echinostelium minutum

Abstract
This myxomycete was cultured on Escherichia coli, E. coli and an encapsulated yeast, and Phoma conidiogena contaminated with an unidentified bacterium. Good growth and fruiting were obtained on all. The organism produces microplasmodia, each of which gives rise to a single minute sporangium. Fruiting occurs in singlespore cultures, and the spp. appears to be homothallic.
