Abstract
A series ofN‐substituted 5,9‐dimethylthieno[2,3‐f]morphans and 5‐phenylthieno[2,3‐f] ‐ morphans has been prepared starting from 3,4‐dimethylpyridine and 4‐phenylpyridine and 3‐thenylbromide by an application of the Grewe morphinan synthesis. The thieno [2,3‐f]morphans were tested for analgetic activity, but only weak analgetic activity relative to toxicity and no morphine antagonism activity was observed. Keywords
