Clinical Association of Basal Cell Epithelioma With Histiocytoma

Abstract
The development of a clinically typical basal cell epithelioma in the epidermis overlying a long-standing preexisting histiocytoma cutis is described. The unusual site and the presence of a lobulated, hard intracutaneous nodule within the neoplasm was clinically suggestive of an unusual etiology. Attention is drawn to the epidermal changes which may be associated with histiocytoma cutis, and a brief review of the literature is given.
