Abstract
Experimental measurements of triple differential cross sections for electron impact ionisation of helium at 200 eV incident energy are put on an absolute scale. A symmetric coplanar energy-sharing geometry is considered, with the common angle of the scattered and ejected electrons in the range 20' to 115'. This method makes use of the physical significance of the ratio of the number of counts in the coincidence peak to the average count rate in the accidental coincidence background in order to obtain a normalisation to known elastic scattering cross sections. Keywords
