β-Glucuronidase Activity in Tumors Accumulation of Radioiodinated Phenolphthalein

Abstract
The use of 131I-phenolphthalein glucuronide as a tumor localizing agent has been studied. The accumulations of 131I-phenolphthalein produced by the enzymatic hydrolysis of the glucuronide is an excellent index of β-glucuronidase activity. Consequently there is a high uptake of radioactivity by experimental tumors.
