Abstract
A description is given of some of the gross anatomical characteristics of the placenta of representatives of 5 carnivore species of the families Procyonidae and Mustelidae. Emphasis is laid on the occurrence of well-defined haemophagocytic structures in these placentae, which have not, hitherto, been investigated. Keywords
