Abstract
A review of methods and transducers employed in force and weight measurement is presented. Various types of transducers are analysed and their characteristic equations given. The most commonly used transducers in the industrial weighing field are examined and their performance described. The strain gauge load cell as the most successful sensor in industrial weighing is treated in greater detail. Finally reference is made to a number of novel ideas. Keywords
