Abstract
Multiple Cysts Resembling Xanthoma. Presented by Dr. O. S. Ormsby. A man, aged 28, presented a fairly generalized eruption. Five years before presentation, the first lesions were noted on the chest, and new ones had continually appeared. There was no sensation. The patient said that occasionally a lesion became inflamed and tender for several weeks, then broke down and discharged pus and blood, leaving a scar. Some of the lesions had been cauterized. The patient was in excellent health in every other way. Examination showed numerous hemispherical, raised nodules, varying in size from that of a match-head to that of a split-pea, which felt moderately firm. The skin over them was not altered. Some of the lesions were bluish and translucent; many were yellow. There were a few scars from old lesions. The majority of the lesions were situated on the trunk, especially on the anterior surface.
