Abstract
Spin alignment of the ground-state band levels of 144 Nd, 148 Sm, 150 Sm and 152 Sm excited in (α, 2 n γ) reactions is studied in detail by measuring precisely the anisotropy of the intra-ground-state band gamma rays. The degree of the spin alignment increases with the increase of the spin of the ground-state band levels. It depends little on the bombarding energies, the reaction Q values and the structures of the low-lying levels. A simple expression is obtained to describe the degree of the spin alignment in (particle, x n γ) reactions. Keywords
